What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists are experts in the science of human movement. They are trained and regulated professionals that are able to diagnose and treat an injury/pain in order to pinpoint an injury's root cause. Physiotherapists are then able to educate you on this root cause and provide rehabilitative, restorative or preventative treatment techniques to manage, prevent and/or treat this pain or injury.

  • Physiotherapy Treatment/Follow-Up Session - $70

  • Physiotherapy Double Treatment - $140

What to Expect from a Physiotherapy Assessment

Your session will be unique because it is individual to you and your health concerns, problems and particular needs. You can expect the following from your physiotherapist:

  • The clinician will learn about your medical history

  • The clinician will assess and diagnose your condition

  • You will receive a treatment plan that sets goals for you 

  • You will likely be prescribed a course of exercises and education diagnoses and help with any assistive devices you may require

  • Your clinician can communicate with your family physician if necessary to discuss further imaging, bloodwork, investigations or referrals required to suit your individual needs

 

What is the Role of Physiotherapy in my Health?

Individuals should think about physiotherapy if they have an injury, or chronic pain/condition or diagnosis affecting their everyday physical function. You may require physiotherapy before or after surgery. Our clinicians are here to help educate you before surgery on what you should and should no do as well as set timelines to further enhance your recovery.

 

Additionally our physiotherapists can help you with issues, including but not limited to:

  • Neck and back pain caused by problems of the muscles and skeleton 

  • Problems in the bones, joints, muscles and ligaments, such as arthritis, osteoporosis, tendonitis, amputation etc.

  • Lung problems associated with COPD and asthma

  • Disability as a result of heart problems

  • Pelvic issues such as bowel and bladder problems pre and post childbirth

  • Loss of mobility because of trauma to the brain or spine, or due to neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson's disease

  • Fatigue, pain, swelling, stiffness and loss of muscle strength affecting all populations and ages
