What is GLA:D?

Good Life Living with Osteoarthritis: Denmark (GLA:D) is an educational and exercise based program for individuals suffering from hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA). This program runs with the goal of improving the quality of life and overall health of the participants. 

 

Throughout these sessions you will:

  • Learn to control and perform your movements with proper form.  

  • Build muscular strength and endurance.

  • Learn how to use these exercises in your daily lives.

  • Leave with the knowledge and understanding to be able to perform these movements at home and on your own. 

Our clinic has modified the GLA:D Program by including an extra portion. These sessions last for about 60 minutes in length and consist of 4 parts:

  1. Warm up with dynamic movements to get the blood flowing.

  2. Circuit with banded exercises. 

  3. (ADDED) Circuit of 6 exercises that involve the core, upper body and lower body).

  4. Cool down on stretches.
