Join Our Team!

Our busy Sport Medicine office is in need of a Medical Secretary to join our team. We are a growing practice with one Physician and 4 Physiotherapists, one chiropractor and a massage therapist. The Medical Secretary will be responsible for numerous administrative tasks in the front of the office, including many patient-facing responsibilities. Consequently, we're looking for a professional with excellent customer service skills and a genuine desire to help patients receive the care they need. We're offering part-time hours to start with the potential for a full-time advancement after 90 days.

Medical Secretary responsibilities and duties:

Welcome patients to our office and validate OHIP

Using Accuro, check patient demographics and recent changes to medical history, scanning and uploading documents if necessary as well as submit and reconcile OHIP billings

Accept payment for co-pays and other fees required prior to services being rendered

Schedule appointments

Coordinate diagnostic tests, treatments and other necessary care with appropriate facilities and professionals

Answer the phones and direct patient, insurance and vendor calls as appropriate

Participate in office Covid cleaning policy, assist with physio desk coverage during breaks

Medical Secretary qualifications and skills:

High school diploma/GED required

2+ years' experience in a medical office or equivalent administration setting

Familiarity with OHIP billing and Accuro is preferred

Excellent phone manner

Ability to work flexible part-time hours for at least the first 90 days of employment

Strong knowledge of medical terminology
